The difficult global economic conditions of the past two years have combined with a more complex corporate communications landscape to significantly expand the responsibilities of the chief communications officer (CCO) role beyond anything that would have been predicted a few years ago.

To better understand this development, Spencer Stuart and Weber Shandwick partnered with KRC Research to conduct a quantitative survey of 159 senior corporate communications professionals based in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Now in its second year, The Rising CCO sheds light on the roles, responsibilities and opinions of CCOs in the world's largest companies.
