Matthias Scheiff specializes in serving financial services clients and leads Spencer Stuart's Financial Services Practice in Germany. He is also the co-head of Spencer Stuart's Global Banking & Markets Practice. Based in Frankfurt, he conducts senior executive searches for major banks and other financial institutions, focusing on investment banking, retail banking, asset management and private equity. He also works on cross-industry CFO placements.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Matthias worked for another international executive search firm for six years, most recently as managing director. Before entering executive search, Matthias was executive assistant to the managing partner in the treasury, capital markets and institutional investors divisions at HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt. Before that, he was with Deutsche Börse AG in Frankfurt as a consultant in the planning and controlling department.
He received an M.B.A. in credit and finance from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and is member of the German Society for Investment Analysis and Asset Management (DVFA).
He is fluent in German and English and has working knowledge of Spanish.
