Amanda brings broad-based industry experience and more than 20 years of professional search expertise to Spencer Stuart’s global Life Sciences Practice and Insurance Practice. She leads the firm’s search practice within the payor services sector.
Previously, Amanda was a partner at two other national search firms. She has led a wide variety of CEO, COO and other C-level assignments (marketing, sales, finance, human resources and operations). Her experience also includes significant assignments for the venture capital community.
Prior to her search career, Amanda was vice president of human resources and administration at Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association, where she directed the development of human resource strategies and national purchasing for this $310 billion healthcare system. Earlier, she directed professional manpower planning for the international supply and technology group of Amoco Corporation. She oversaw personnel and labor relations for three metropolitan newspapers in New York and Chicago and served as director of recruitment for the consumer products division of American Home Products. She began her career with Home Life Insurance.
Amanda holds a B.A. degree in political science from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, where she served on the Board of Trustees. She is a member of the board of directors of the Lyric Opera Guild and the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago and sits on the advisory committee of the Society of Actuaries.
