Armen Simon is a member of Spencer Stuart's Financial Services Practice and a leader in the firm’s global Insurance Practice. In this capacity, he conducts senior executive searches within the financial services sector, predominantly in banking, reinsurance and insurance. He also is a leader in the Financial Officer Practice in Germany where he recruits chief financial officers and senior finance executives for large companies and for private equity firms.
Prior to joining the firm, Armen was managing director at Allianz Group, where he implemented and led the combined insurance and investment banking corporate marketing and solutions platform. Before Allianz, Armen spent most of his career in banking, beginning at Deutsche Bank. He also worked for 15 years at two major international banks, mainly in London and Paris, developing and originating a broad range of capital markets and corporate finance advisory businesses. He focused the banks’ client work on various specialized global industries, such as insurance and utilities.
Armen graduated with a Ph.D. in economics and management from the University of London and earned master’s degrees in business administration (Nürnberg and Henley). He is fluent in German, English and French.
