Ben Holzemer leads Spencer Stuart’s North American Technology, Communications & Media Practice and manages the Silicon Valley office located in San Mateo. He is also active in the firm’s Private Equity Practice, conducting work for firms and their portfolio companies, with a particular focus on the high-tech industry sector and emerging markets.
Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Ben has lived and worked on three continents and has a global practice assisting multinational corporations and private companies of all sizes and their investors in meeting their executive management and board leadership needs. Over the past five years, he has led more than 100 engagements for clients worldwide, including CEO, board director and functional leadership searches as well as in-depth assessments of management teams. Ben has deep industry expertise in networking technologies, software, cloud computing, data centers and network operators. He has additional experience in the healthcare-related technology, professional services and energy sectors. In addition to senior-level general management roles, Ben also specializes in recruiting strategy executives, leaders for emerging markets, and senior technology and innovation leaders.
Ben’s passion for working with emerging markets and innovators is a function of his own entrepreneurial background and experiences working and living around the world. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Ben was a co-founder, CEO and leader of two early-stage networking technology companies, guiding both through to acquisition. Ben is a graduate of UCLA where he earned two B.A. degrees focusing his studies on developing countries and economies.
